Kion's Outlook

Kion watched over the Savannah, his eyes scanning over the vast grasslands of his bloodline. Stars twinkled overhead and he mused on the old teachings of his sister and parents before him, his eyes laying down on his sister and brother in law talking in the grass below. Pride Rock was still hot from the harsh sunlight, keeping a warm spot to rest, and he thanked the Great Kings for being able to slink away from the cold of the night. Not many Pridelanders dare come up to the small cave, for fear that they would be seen like his Great Uncle had been generations ago. Some lions would whisper and gossip as they watched him ascend up to the small nook, but he shrugged it off with a smile. They could gossip all they wanted, he had the view of the Pridelands all to himself.

I will be completely honest that I haven't picked up, much less drawn with, a pencil in over three years. I've gotten very accustomed to my tablet so sketching on paper again for the first time in forever was a really awkward experience. So please pardon the anatomical errors and shaky lines. But I liked the sketch enough to splash some color on it! I drew Kion mainly from memory so he's pretty off model to our AU design. I'm pretty pleased with the background though, The-Hare gave me a pretty sweet new brush that I really enjoy working with!

I really want to thank y'all that are sticking with me through my TLK artwork. I know it's kind of a weird change of pace after working on my world building and species for so long but that's been a project that I'm really trying to take my time on with the initial re-designs. But I will get my planetary stuff back into this gallery soon! TLK art has just been a lot easier and stress reducing for me lately. uvu
